Identity Mark
An identity mark is more commonly called a logo and usually contains two distinct parts, an image mark and a word mark. Sometimes an identity mark consists of only a word mark or an image mark but in most instances they occur together. For example, Nike is one of the most recognizable identity marks in the world as either its image mark, the famous Nike “swoosh,” or its plain word mark, Nike. Either can be used separately but are often seen together. In other cases the image mark and word mark are never meant to be separated and will always be seen as a pair.
